Control Algorithms
We develop leading-edge control algorithms based on model predictive control (MPC) and AI-based approaches (Reinforcement Learning) while offering a strong base of state-of-the-art algorithms like field-oriented control (FOC). We control grid converters, DC/DC, PMSM, ASM, reluctance machines, and special topologies.
UltraZohm
We develop and distribute the open source rapid control prototyping platform UltraZohm. The UltraZohm is aimed at power electronics applications as well as drive systems.

Control Boards
We offer and develop customer-specific control boards for power electronics and drives based on Xilinx SoC.
Founding Team
Employees and founders
Our team consists of experienced engineers and researchers in the realm of complex control algorithms for power electronics systems, motor control applications, and mechatronics. Our company was founded 2020 by five research assistants of TU München (TUM) and TH Nürnberg (THN). The team has grown with two additional employees, and some founders have left academia for industry positions.

Dr.-Ing. Michael Hoerner
Michael Hoerner is the founder and CEO of the company. He received his Ph.D. at TUM. He holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in electrical engineering.

Andreas Geiger
Andreas Geiger holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering. He was a research assistant at THN and has since moved to Fraunhofer IISB.

Eyke Aufderheide is founder of the company and works at TUM, where he received his Ph.D. He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in electrical engineering.

Sebastian Wendel received his Ph.D. from TUM. He was a research assistant at THN when he founded Zohm Control. He now works at ZF.
